Developing Culturally Responsive & Inclusive School Leaders by Tangible Development

This two-part series will provide strategies to understand, identify, and address the root cause of implicit bias and the tools needed to create a culture of accountability and a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices in the classroom. In this training, the presenters will develop the knowledge and tools needed to drive a DEI vision at the school and classroom level. This training will provide strategies to create accountability and a culture of DEI practices throughout your organization. Focusing on the five focus areas of, empathy, awareness, vulnerability, navigating conflict, and thinking and acting outside of own lens, leaders will learn how to lead on issues of diversity and inclusion from a place of responsiveness, rather than one of reactivity, to create an inclusive organization where everyone feels they belong.
- Provide school leadership and teachers with the knowledge and tools to develop Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Educational Environments
- Identify ways educators and maintenance staff can examine power structures in their leadership style and school environments
- Illustrate the connection between the power structures and the manifestation of implicit bias in individuals and in the organization/inequities in teaching
- Prepare school leadership and teachers to be responsive to the changing needs of students, teachers, and communities
