Twice-Exceptional ELLs Online PD Session
Even if we are experts in serving the needs of our English Language Learners (ELLs), when another variable is added, it can be a challenge to make the best decisions for these students. This PD will cover ELLs with Disabilities and ELLs with 504s. We will explore the national and state regulations for each area and use these to better understand the procedures needed to ensure our ELLs are receiving the support they need and deserve.
In this three hour session, the first two hours will cover content with multiple opportunities for interaction. This will be followed by a workshop-style book study that will allow participants a deep-dive into a topic of their choosing.
Participants of this session will receive a copy of the book Special Education Considerations for English Language Learners by Hamayan, Marler, Sanchez-Lopez and Damico (mailed to your home address)
*Participants need to be registered by May 28th in order to receive the book.
There will also be an optional opportunity for a fourth hour CTLE credit through a one-hour follow-up assignment to make the PD session’s learning meaningful and further utilize the book resource.
