Twice-Exceptional ELLs Online PD Session

Even if we are experts in serving the needs of our English Language Learners (ELLs), when another variable is added, it can be a challenge to make the best decisions for these students. This one-hour session will cover ELLs with disabilities and ELLs with 504s, as well as ELLs with suspected disabilities. We will explore the national and state regulations for each area and use these to better understand the procedures needed to ensure our ELLs are receiving the support they need and deserve.
Specifically, participants will learn about the differences between ELL and SWD designations in terms of identification, mandates, service provision, and exit pathways. We will also address misconceptions and choosing appropriate assessments.
