Scaffolding for Remote Teaching and Learning
Explore strategies for scaffolding based on the needs of English Language Learners for No-Tech, Low-Tech, and High-Tech versions of remote teaching and learning. Participants will view NYSED’s Continuity of Education page to explore a variety of resources as well as a repository of RBERN-collected resources and strategies to develop a go-to database for reference in the coming weeks. Facilitators will demonstrate how the Bilingual Progressions and the Performance Level Descriptors can be used to identify specific scaffolds that may support ELLs with at-home practice and learning. Then, participants will view sample scaffolds and collaborate with colleagues to build a collection of ideas for effectively supporting remote teaching and learning of ELLs.
