La clase dual: Instrucción en español/The Dual Language Classroom: Instruction in Spanish (facilitated by a member from Dr. José Medina Educational Solutions)
This session, facilitated completely in Spanish, will allow participants to better understand the linguistic features of the language that directly impact both literacy and content instruction in Spanish. Additionally, dual language educators who facilitate instruction in Spanish, must be adept at helping students to make cross-linguistic connections.
Participants in the professional learning will be able to: Identify the similarities and differences between literacy instruction in Spanish and English, and identify how those impact instructional pedagogy in the dual language classroom; Assess current curricular and instructional practices, including cross-linguistic connections, that impact the ability of students to use each of the two program languages to strengthen the other; Analyze culturally sustaining instructional practices that value all regional Spanish<br/>
dialects.
