Exploring Effective Supports for Secondary Newcomer and SIFE Students
As educators, we are entrusted with the vital responsibility of guiding and supporting students through their educational journey, regardless of their background or circumstances. Among the diverse tapestry of students we encounter, there are those who face unique challenges, such as Students with Interrupted Formal Education (SIFE) and newcomers to high school. These students often arrive with varying levels of English proficiency and academic experiences, and it is our duty to provide them with the necessary tools and support to thrive academically and personally. This training has been thoughtfully designed to empower educators, administrators, and support staff with the knowledge, strategies, and educational technology resources needed to effectively assist SIFE and newcomer high school students. Whether you are a seasoned educator or new to this rewarding field, this program offers invaluable insights, practical techniques, and real-world examples to help you create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment that fosters the academic and social growth of these students. The Zoom link will be shared with all registered participants via Frontline the day before the session.
