2022 Writing Revolution Book Study: 6-12
The Capital District RBERN is excited to offer a hybrid, virtual book study based on The Writing Revolution by Judith C. Hochman and Natalie Wexler. Participants will be introduced to the six principles of the Hochman method to improve English Learners’ writing and reading comprehension. These strategies interweave with your existing lessons and provide research-based results for your ELLs!
We will hold a one-hour virtual kickoff meeting on July 21 that introduces the cohort to the text; a virtual check-in meeting on Aug 25 to share ideas and questions about lesson implementation; and a culminating share-out virtual meeting on October 6 where the cohort will share the lesson strategies they implemented and discuss their experiences.
Participants will get a free copy of the book if they sign up before July 1. Prior to the first meeting, participants will get an email with the zoom link for the kickoff session. An additional 3 CTLE credits will be awarded for the asynchronous expectations, for a total of 6 credit hours altogether.
