This is a continuation of the foundations of Multicultural Education. Here we will (1) explore strategies for teaching multicultural and multilingual English language learners in K-12 settings, and (2) identify obstacles to participation in the educational process by diverse cultural and ethnic groups. At the completion of these two parts, the participant should have a general understanding of multicultural education and be able to discuss and create student centered inclusive practices around issues of race, ethnicity, language, religion, gender, and sexual orientation for their educational contexts.
