Congratulations, Capital District Delegation!
The Capital District Delegation of PR/HYLI crushed it during the 30th anniversary year of the Angelo del Toro Puerto Rican/Hispanic Youth Leadership Institute! Our delegation completed rigorous and competitive trainings from January to March of 2020. A select few represented the CD Delegation at the institute weekend on March 9-11.
This year’s trainings included 54 students from 12 local districts in our region. The trainings covered skills based on the New York Next Generation Learning Standards to build leadership and advocacy skills.
The institute weekend included 12 students from 6 districts. Eight of our nine Seniors who attended the weekend won scholarships, including the TOP PRIZE for their incredible essays on “A Hispanic/Latino Leader”.
